I had one 184-pin 512 MB DDR PC2100 RAM module installed and now I want

to add another 512MB stick. When I add a second module of the same RAM

(184-pin 512 MB DDR PC2100 RAM ), the system just doesn't see it. It
sees the original 512MBs, but it doesn't see the new RAM. I've tried
different slots, I've swapped the 512 for two separate 256 sticks,
I've tried different brands of RAM, but the system just won't detect
the extra ram. I read the manual and checked various bios settings, but

I'm stumped as to why the system won't see the newly added RAM.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Brian

First, make sure your ram timings are set to "By SPD" in the BIOS. Also
disable the "optimal performance" (?) setting at the top of your
"chipset features". I've seen problems with the 'optimal performance'
timing setting using generic PC2100 sticks.

Sorry, me too. Keep working on it and let us know when you figure it
out.
